Prerequisites

You must be 18 years of age or older for Worksafe Australia accreditation. You must wear appropriate clothing and footwear.

At the Hobart, Launceston, Burnie and Devonport training facilities.

This course will provide the necessary knowledge and skills to enable the safe erection, modification and dismantling of light duty aluminium scaffold and heavy duty modular scaffold. This course prepares participants for Worksafe Australia certification requirements.

Participants will learn:

  • How to plan and prepare work.
  • To erect, dismantle and store scaffolding and equipment correctly.
  • To inspect, repair and alter scaffolding equipment.
  • About the tools and techniques associated with prefabricated scaffolds, cantilevered hoists (max weight lift load 500kg materials only), ropes, gin wheels, bracket scaffolds (tank and formwork), safety nets and static lines.

On successful completion applicants are able to apply for a Licence to perform High Risk Work ‘Scaffolding’ as issued by the state regulator under the Workplace Health and Safety Regulations 1998.
