This course is designed to assist farm employees understand the importance of their role in relation to occupational health and safety. An overview will be given of the regulations and standards of theTasmanian Workplace Health and Safety Act.

Participants will learn:

  • Elements of OH&S legislation and understand Duty of Care.
  • To understand policies and procedures specific to their business.
  • Risk management, record keeping and incident/accident reporting.
  • About farm audits and hazard identification.
  • Standard operating procedures and special policies including “tagging out”
    and chemical handling.
