Prerequisites

You must be 18 years of age or older for Worksafe Australia accreditation. You must wear appropriate clothing, footwear and bring a calculator.

Location

At the Hobart, Launceston, Burnie and Devonport training facilities.

This course is designed to provide participants with the underpinning knowledge and skills to achieve national certification for the safe operation of a boom type elevated work platform, in compliance with safe work practices and the National Occupational Health and Safety Certification (NOHSC) Standards for Users and Operators of Industrial Equipment.

Participants will learn:

  • How to perform pre-operation checks.
  • About site job planning.
  • How to set up, operate and shut down elevated work platforms.

On successful completion of this course applicants are able to apply for a Licence to operate a boom type elevated work platform as issued by the state regulator under the Workplace Health and Safety Regulations 1998.
