Manual handling is about much more than just lifting heavy weights and affects more than a person’s back. Manual handling is any activity involving the use of muscular force (or effort) to lift, move, push, pull, carry, hold or restrain any object including a person or animal. The purpose of this course is to provide participants with the knowledge to evaluate and assess a working environment to allow work tasks to be carried out in a S.A.F.E manner.

Participants will learn:
- About S.A.F.E.
- About pre-handling checks.
- When sustained muscle exertion is required to restrain or support a load.
- About repetitive activity seen in assembly work.
- Correct typing back and neck posture.
- Useful skills, tips and techniques.
- Qualification: A Statement of Attainment. Selected unit "Undertake Manual Handling" (MEM11011B). A Statement of Attendance.
