National Centre for Vocational Education and Research (NCVER) figures released this week reveal Skills Institute graduates are among the most highly satisfied in Australia.

The NCVER Student Outcomes 2011 showed 91.8 per cent of Skills Institute graduates were satisfied with the overall quality of training they received, compared with a national average of 89.3 per cent.

The results also represent a rise in the Skills Institute’s own student satisfaction from the previous year, which were still high in 2010 at 90.3 per cent.

Skills Institute CEO Malcolm White said the new data reinforced the effectiveness of the Institute’s focus on delivering relevant training and employment outcomes.

“It’s extremely rewarding to see 93.1 per cent of Tasmanian respondents to the national survey said they fully or partly achieved the main reason for doing their training with us, compared to 85.7 per cent nationally,” Mr White said.

“The figures also showed that our students studied with us for work related outcomes, with 90.6 per cent of graduates employed after training, compared with just 77.4 per cent nationally.  

“It is very pleasing to see the work of the Skills Institute and its mission of putting industry at the heart of training, proving to be so successful with our students.”
